Video: Rhodes Mark I Stage Piano with contact mic
Recording the Rhodes Mark I electric piano with a contact microphone (piezo pickup) to capture the mechanical noise from the tines and keys. The signal from the contact mic is then blended in with the direct signal.
The last example is mixed down with Roland PA-120 and I used the internal spring reverb as well as a tape echo and a digital stereo reverb. The signal was then recorded it to a cassette tape for some extra color and saturation.
Instrument: Rhodes Mark I Stage Piano.
Effects: Roland PA-120 spring reverb, Fulltone Tube Tape Echo and Chase Bliss Audio & Meris CXM 1978.
Mixer: Roland PA-120.
Tape recorder: Fostex X-28H.
