Signal-processing chain built around a Fender Rhodes piano and a 1010music nanobox | lemondrop granular synthesizer.
The Rhodes piano's pickup output is blended with a contact microphone attached inside the instrument to capture mechanical key noise. The combined signal is routed into the lemondrop and used as a live-input granular oscillator source. Granular parameters are adjusted in real time to reshape the incoming audio.
Both the processed signal from the lemondrop and the direct Rhodes signal are then sent through the stereo BBD delay on a Moog Matriarch. I also added some reverb from a Chase Bliss Audio & Meris CXM 1978 to create a bit more space and depth.
Instruments: 1010music nanobox | lemondrop and Rhodes Mark I Stage Piano.
Effects: Alex Franklinos Stereo Transformer Saturator, Avion Studios RetroFlyer Preamp, Chase Bliss Audio & Meris CXM 1978, DIY Recording Equipment G Bus VCA Compressor, Hairball Audio FET/RACK Revision D, Handsome Audio Zulu and Moog Matriarch (Stereo BBD Delay).
